TFW your second grade hopes and dreams are still your hopes and dreams today...

Understanding other people has become my life's work and what better way to do it than designing products, services, and art that make their lives better!

HEY!

Eliana Lauder is a senior at Duke University majoring in Behavioral Science and Design, completing a certificate in Innovation & Entrepreneurship and minoring in Computer Science. She will be graduating with distinction in May 2019 after completing an honors thesis investigating whether VR can elicit declarative and behavioral empathy. For this project, she will be completing a full review on the space, designing a VR experience, running a full behavioral experiment in Israel to test the detribalizing effects of a particular VR experience in de-escalating the Palestinian-Israeli conflict, and finally, defending a thesis in the spring. Outside of her coursework, Eliana is a research assistant at Dan Ariely’s Center for Advanced Hindsight, a co-founder of the Duke Behavioral Science Group, a founder of a Duke-based start up, CataList, LLC., a tour guide and a Cameron Crazy! Last fall, she completed a semester abroad in Paris studying design and computer science at Parsons School of Design. However, now Eliana is based back in Durham, North Carolina to rejoin her friends in Tridelta at Duke and complete her yoga instructor certification. Eliana is also a lover of travel, adventure, and photography, leading a week long kayak trip every fall for Duke incoming freshmen in the Outer Banks and up-keeping a travel blog (@lottalauda), like her millennial peers. However, most importantly, Eliana is an adoring sister to her most inspiring brother, Josh, and daughter to her goofball parents, Laura and Gary.
